For US President Joe Biden, Israel is more precious and more important than America and the entire world, and it is the axis of the earth and the universe, and it may not be accused of any accusation whatsoever, nor may it be criticized, according to US President Joe Biden, who renewed the warning against the rise of anti-Semitism in The United States, especially in universities, amid division among Democrats and the alienation of some young voters due to his support for the Israeli attack on Gaza.
In a speech he delivered on the occasion of Holocaust Remembrance, Biden said, “This hatred (of Jews) still lingers in the hearts of many people in the world and requires our continued vigilance and candor.”
Biden’s statements came seven months after the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) attacked Israel on October 7, killing 1,200 people, according to Israeli statistics.
Biden said, “Here we are now, not 75 years later, but only seven and a half months later, and people are already forgetting… that Hamas launched this terrorism… I have not forgotten, nor have you, and we will not forget.”
Biden’s speech comes as health authorities in Gaza say that the subsequent and ongoing Israeli attack has killed about 35,000 Palestinians so far and put many of the Strip’s 2.3 million residents on the brink of famine.
Biden acknowledged the right of Americans to protest and demonstrate, but he did not mention anything about the deaths in Gaza.
Many American Jews criticize the Israeli attacks on Gaza, lead protests against the actions of the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and even denounced Netanyahu’s performance in Congress.
But law enforcement and advocacy groups, on the other hand, have recorded a sharp rise in anti-Semitic attacks in the United States since October 7, as well as attacks against Muslims.
“Antisemitism has reached crisis levels in our country,” said Carol Ann Schwartz, president of Hadassah USA, a women’s Zionist organization consulted by the White House.
